Reiki For Horses

Definition
Reiki Healing is an all-natural practice to regenerate and replace the interrupted energy field of a body caused by disruptions and/or blockages in the flow. Reiki “reboots” the flow supply regenerating the organs and cells of the body. A Reiki Healer sees many different problems, difficulties, illnesses, etc., and most of the time as a last resort. The process can be as simple as relaxing and releasing the obstacles causing the issues. Some believe that there is a spiritual factor along with the healing. These feelings come from within and cannot be given. Everything flows naturally and each has their own evaluation of the session. For some it is very strong even having miracle effects. For others it may be more subtle and in a gradual way. It can take one hour or may be over a period of days as the healing process completes, seeing improvement over time pain reduces, over all feelings of confidence, contentment, trust are present again.  

Horses and Reiki
The horse was not designed to be ridden. When we ride them we are placing our weight on their most vulnerable spot – the middle of their back - a horse’s natural fear is being taken down and killed by a predator jumping on their neck and body, we defy this very fear when we get on their back. Because a horse has a giant heart and the basic energy to please they have developed an agreement to be ridden. With proper care, diet, hoof treatment,attention
to their body's needs, and love, they are willing to please. 
All horses are athletes, depending upon the type of riding or jobs they do play a big role in maintaining their soundness. Daily wear and tear, poor equipment fit, pushing them beyond their individual abilities all weigh on them and eventually show up in their ability to perform. Common areas affected are their back, shoulders, hips and lower limbs. Reiki, acupressure, massage, and "Vitalia" Essentail Oils, are beneficial to the horse’s well being.
Young horses are often effected by their rough play and injure themselves going unnoticed until it is time to begin breaking them. It takes a trained eye to recognize bad manors or pain.
Reiki is a very effective healing modality for horses, they have no preconceived notions or skepticism as humans do, so they are more relaxed and enjoy the attention and experience.
